My Way: Meseta textures

The Camino crosses the Meseta, a big largely uninhabited and treeless area of northern Spain. Temperatures fall to single digits at night and have been hitting 37c in mid-afternoon. Bit like a typical inland day in Australia but for Europeans it is something special. The emptiness, the fact that there are rarely any sounds of motor vehicles, the predominant sound is that of birds and that the stars can be seen at night, they find a little unnerving.
