The approach to Burgos speaks volumes about the contemporary Spanish culture. The failure of the great ambitions of the first decade are seen in the abandoned construction littering the landscape. Along the way the sustaining culture has not quite been lost but it is not healthy either.

"A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step" --Chinese philosopher Laozi. Likewise epics can be built out of tiny scribblings.
