My Way: getting a grip

Aphorisms, mottos, devotions, koans...even graffiti... Call it what you will...abounds along the Camino, urging the pilgrims to meditation. WHY DO YOU WALK? is painted in metre high letters along a concrete drain, others are so small and scribbled on paper and weather worn that you need strong light and a magnifying glass to see them. Still others find themselves written into guides or on the ephemeral internet forums.  Size or permanence does not correlate to usefulness.
My favourite at the moment is to greet all for the first time as though they were ourselves. A good Christian would say that there is a little of Christ in all of us but it is a notion that sits well with most beliefs. On the long lonely stretches of the Camino where the all you have are your various pains this is how the mind grips and moves you forward.
