My Way: Halfway

I've been doing the sums and the guidebooks agee: at the forlorn, dirty, non-descript and declining highway village of Ledigos in  Palencia I am halfway along the Camino Français,  halfway between St Jean on the French Pyrenees border and Santiago de Compostela approaching the Spanish northeast corner. It is also known for being the most mind numbing stage, 24km of barely arable land, no villages, no drinkable water, no toilets. Just you and your pain..and the solice of being with others suffering the same or worse.
The relentless yellow arrows drive us on.
