Not a great photo but if you consider it was taken with a dinky mobile phone at 24 knots in the low light of dusk, it was remarkable I got anything at all. |
"A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step" --Chinese philosopher Laozi. Likewise epics can be built out of tiny scribblings. In early 2012, I wandered Europe writing posts on what I found interesting for friends. By the end I had written the equivalent of a 1000-page book. My readers had journeyed with me and so did not ask: "how was it?" Instead we discussed what it meant. I continue scribbling. Mastodon

The last of the summer wine
It is often said that the only way to really appreciate where you live is to go away. Last night, coming back from the mainland on one of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands fast ferries revealed why. The Moon rising was full over Stradbroke, the sky clear cold, not a breath of wind, the water still. I wasn't the only local trying to get a decent photo of what was a remarkably beautiful scene.
